JULIA’S STORY

Julia began Health Patterning with me after she had finished chemotherapy for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  She made a long term commitment to continue as she believed that guided imagery exercises and Therapeutic Touch would help her to stay well.  She is sharing her story as a way to make a contribution to the well-being of others.

IN JULIA’S OWN WORDS

Almost 9 years after I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, I discovered a lump under my chin. I had relapsed. The other shoe had dropped. I was 9 years older and emotionally and physically tired. My husband had quit his job almost 4 years ago and I have been on an emotional roller coaster ever since. A part of me wanted this life to be over --- and yet, I don’t want to die. I have a great deal of negativity in me and it is a daily struggle to contain my demons. I had to find something to heal myself. I couldn’t bring myself to do the visualizations and meditations I did before. I rejected those I found that contained elements that the negative side of me would pounce upon. So I created my own.

God’s Vacuum Cleaner

Close your eyes and breathe out three times. At the site(s) that need to be healed take a golden scalpel and scrape away all the impurities. Put the scalpel down and see a giant hose attach itself to the area that you have scraped. Feel the impurities being sucked out of your body.  Pick up a golden needle and thread and stitch the area. Feel the fingers of God touching the scar and healing it. Sense a white light entering your body through the top of your head. Feel it traveling through your body removing any debris that may be left. A pink light enters and courses through your body making all the tissues pink and healthy. A blue light enters and brings a calming peace. See the white light return and spread its light in your body dispelling any darkness. See an aura of white light, pink light and blue light surrounding your body and know that you have health and peace wherever you go.  Breathe out one time and know that healing is taking place.  Open your eyes.

The Hapuna Chair

The Hapuna chair is a rock formation in Hawaiian waters in the shape of a chair. Legend has it that the Royal Hawaiians sat in it for it’s healing powers. I was drawn to this place without knowing that Hapuna in Hawaiian means “Spring of Life."

Breathe out three times and see yourself going into the water. Sit in the Hapuna chair and sense your hands skimming the water. Cup your hands and splash the water on the parts that need to be healed. Feel the warmth of the sun. When you are through return to land and dry yourself off. Breathe out one time.  Open your eyes.

In addition, I worked with my therapist Dr. Elizabeth Barrett on the Cursed to Cure exercise (Created by Dr. Gerald Epstein for Doubt) and Dr. Gerald Epstein’s Life Repair Process.  I did this for about a week before my treatment was to start. I felt the lump flatten out to the point that it felt more like a thickening of the skin then an actual lump. The nodule inside also shrunk and was difficult to locate. When the doctor examined me he said, “Where did it go?”  The nurse asked me, “What have you been doing?”  I said, “Visualizations.”  Her final words were, “Whatever you are doing, keep it up.”
