LIGHT, COLOR, SOUND, AND MOTION
Martha Rogers, ScD, RN, FAAN maintained that light, color, sound, and motion would be important healing modalities in the future. These therapeutic modalities can take many forms. Interestingly, imagery exercises can incorporate all four of them. You just need to use your imagination to create them. Here’s an example; try it if you wish.
Close your eyes and breathe out three long out-breaths, each followed by a briefer in-breath. See and sense a beautiful rainbow of pastel colored light arched above a calm, tranquil lake of blue-green water. Remove your clothes and go into the lake. Splash yourself with the crystal clear warm water. Hear the birds chirping like a choir of angels. Get out of the water letting the sun dry you. Put on new clothes, something light and airy. Pick up a handful of sand, letting it flow from your fingers until only one grain of sand is left. Watch the grain of sand transform; suddenly it changes into something special that you can keep for yourself. See, sense, and know what message it has for you. Then breath out and open your eyes.
